WHO WE ARE
I am Gabriele Giani, together with my family, founder and main driver of the farm "Il Giuncheto".
Our project was born in 2015 in the Florentine hills between Val di Pesa and Val Virginia with the aim of creating quality agri-food products à in full respect of the territory and traditional cultivation techniques. Thanks to our passion and the relationship that has linked us to these areas for generations, we are able to guarantee consumers natural and authentic products. Ours is a work of sacrifice and love for the same time that day after day allows us to create a unique product directly from our land.
OUR HISTORY
OUR OLIVE GROVES
Our olive grove extends for about 3 hectares, is located in the municipality of Montespertoli, near Florence and is framed by woods, vineyards and wonderful valleys. Thousands
are the trees of different varieties, planted over a hundred years ago. The sixth of the rearing is 5 x 5 meters, the Umbrella pruning.
We follow a sustainable approach, using cultivation techniques capable of preserving the fertility of the
earth. The harvest of the olives, as soon as they turn color, takes place from the second half of October onwards, depending on the season and the degree of ripeness each different year. The method is the “brucatura ” which involves detaching the drupe directly from the tree. The olives are brought to the mill and pressed within 24 hours of harvesting.
